French weapons maker Nexter Defense System is set to maintain long-term cooperation with the Indonesian government to build a domestic weapons industry system.

French weapons manufacturer Nexter Defense System has expressed its commitment to a long-term partnership with the Indonesian government to build a domestic weapons industry system. “We will work together in terms of the supply chain and infrastructure side,” said Nexter Asia export sales director Amaury de Poncins in Versailles, France, recently, as reported by cnnindonesia.com news website on Tuesday. He said that his company aimed to build a sustainable system for Indonesia by working with Indonesia’s local engineers through knowledge and technology transfers instead of only selling weapons. De Poncins highlighted the importance of trust between France and Indonesia to realize the partnership and technology transfer. Previously, on Jan. 29, the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and partnership agreement with several institutions, including Nexter.
